To a parent , the greatest fear is your child will be injured . Yesterday that fear came true for several families in Huntsville , Alabama . A school bus filled with over 30 students flipped off an interstate overpass .The accident killed at least three students and injured several others critically . No seat belts were in the school bus . My best wishes goes out to those families .
The National Transportation Safety Board has stated that school buses are designed to protect occupants without the need for seat belts , the NHSTB has stated . In Tennesse, it is illegal to drive or be a passenger in a motor vehicle without a motor vehicle . The NSTB states that a new design system uses strong , well-padded , high-backed seats . I would like to ask for some help from folks around MIddle Tennessee . Does your school system have seat belts on thier school buses ? Please post your school district information and I will post the school safety results in a few weeks . Also it strikes me as odd you must wear a selt belt in a car but not a school bus .
