Please have a happy and safe Fourth of July . According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration , the Fourth of July is the second most deadly holiday period of the year . It ranks just behind New Year’s . During the 2006 July Fourth holiday , there were over 12 fatal crashes in Tennessee . This year the police will be out in force conducting sobriety checkpoints to keep these crash numbers down .
