Most of the doctors I know are concerned about patient care and treating their patients well . It is the medical associations that do not seem to share the same view . The Tennessee Medical Association recently installed a new president . In his comments to the Nashville Tennessean , one of his main goals is to place monetary caps on punitive damage claims in medical malpractice cases in Tennessee. Also , he wanted to allow the judgements to be paid over time like an installment plan . The second part of his agenda was to increase payments from insurance companies . There was not one mention of reducing medical mistakes , getting rid of bad doctors , or improving patient care . It is just another example of putting profits over people .
