The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall for swimming pool drain covers that might not meet proper safety standards. Swimming pool drains use an enormous amount of suction to recirculate and filter water. In instances where the drain intake was not properly fitted with a safe drain cover, both children and adults have been trapped by the suction and suffered serious injuries, including disembowelment and death by drowning. If you have a pool, make sure your drain is covered and that your drain cover meets recommended safety standards so you can enjoy a safe and happy summer.
