Golf Cart Accidents on the Rise

Comments Off

Golf carts are now used off the course. At auto dealerships , schools , and a host of other places , the use of golf carts are on the rise. Due to this use , the number of golf cart accidents has doubled. One reason for the increase is that the carts are not being used as they were intended. The newer carts can hit speeds up to 25 miles per hour. According to a report published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine , the golf carts lack necessary safety equipment such as seatbelts and front brakes. Riders are hurt when they are thrown out of the golf cart as well as when the golf carts flip over. As they say on the golf course , Fore ! Which means to lookout.
